We have a thriving student leadership team at Walthamstow Academy. Led by SLT along with the Head Student and Deputy Head Students, students applied to become JLT and successful explore all aspects of leadership with various guest speakers and activities led by staff and students.
JLT lead the wider team of democratically elected Year Council Representatives and classroom elected Form Representatives to deliver on a wide range of activities for students. These have recently included charity opportunities such as our Christmas Help the Homeless campaign in which the whole Academy gathered items to donate to two local homeless charities, FCENS and Branches.
Finally, every half term we have Student Voice Week, we value what the student community has to say, and Academy Council is our chance to listen to student views. The Council is run by the students for the students every and allows us to celebrate our successes and discuss areas for improvement. Views get put before our SLT and actions taken to ensure student requests are heard.
