Oliver Duke-Williams
Parent Governor

I've been a governor at the Academy since 2017. I work as a Senior Lecturer at UCL, and have a background as a geographer. Professionally, my work includes making census and other data sets available for research, and doing so in a way that respects privacy, and I'm interested in how schools and families can make good use of data. I have two children at Walthamstow Academy, and have observed through them both the experiences of new year 7 pupils, and the experiences of public exams.

Lynne Miles
Community Governor

I've been a governor at Walthamstow Academy since 2016. I live locally to the school and volunteer as a governor to get more involved in my local community.  I have two young girls and hope they will one day be pupils here.  In my professional life, I’m an economist for a global consulting firm, working in central London and am part of a research centre which aims to embed the use of evidence in policy making. I also have a master’s degree in public policy.  As a community governor, I offer an understanding of local economic development, skills and regeneration issues, as well of knowledge of the wider local community context.

Governor responsibilities – Year 8 link governor; Careers & Work Related Learning link governor.

Paul Tannahill
Staff Governor

I've been a governor at Walthamstow Academy since August 2017. I originally trained as a lawyer in New Zealand, and have lived and worked in the UK in government litigation for 10 years. I switched careers to become a teacher in 2015, and hope to bring a range of legal skills and organisation to the board and to represent interests of the staff.

Governor responsibilities – Teaching staff representative.

Naseem Landi
Parent Governor

I have been parent governor at Walthamstow academy since 2018. I have a BSc., BEd., MBA in marketing and DHCM.
I was the head of science in secondary school, where I taught Mathematics and Science as my main subjects and leading science department. I have also been a guest faculty lecturer in a management college. Having worked as a Scientific manager in a pharmaceutical company this helped me develop my management skills. Teaching has always been a passion for me. The vision of the academy 'The best in everyone' fits well with my philosophy of education.
