Enrichment trips, activities and events
Wider opportunities start as soon as a student is offered a place in the Sixth Form with a comprehensive induction programme and teamwork and leadership course in the Summer Term before joining. This enables students to get to know each other and gain an understanding of the expectations of Sixth Form life and study.
Co-curricular activities, trips and events complement the Sixth Form curriculum, allow students to undertake new subjects, develop life skills, improve fitness and enjoy themselves whilst learning new things. Each Sixth Form student will have two hours of enrichment allocated within their timetable and there are numerous extra-curricular opportunities at lunchtime and beyond the Academy day. Every member of staff contributes to our enrichment programme and there is something for everyone. Sixth Form students are able to select leading or participating in a range of sports, performances, productions, clubs, societies, debates, additional study skills, coursework and revision workshops, work related learning experiences, university course sampling, and voluntary work in the wider community.
Outward bounds activities, overseas trips and expeditions also enable students to work with different people and try things they may never have thought possible.
