Shakespeare Schools' Festival
On Friday 14 October students from Walthamstow Academy performed a thirty minute version of Macbeth at the Kenneth Moore Theatre in Ilford.
The thirteen Year 10 performers were taking part in the largest youth drama festival in the United Kingdom - The Shakespeare Schools’ Festival.
The group fused drama, movement and drumming in their performance which was warmly received by the audience. The students, who rehearsed under the direction of Ms Landon, Mr Gill, Ms Ward and Ms Coe, also received assistance from a professional director as part of their preparation for the show. After their performance he commended them on their use of physical theatre and excellent display of team work.
Congratulations to all who took part!
