Share-a-story Month
Every year the National Literacy Trust conducts an event called ‘Share-a-story Month’ during May; getting students thinking about writing and celebrating the power of story.
This year Walthamstow Academy conducted their own Share-a-Story week with our Year 7 pupils. We started the week in 7C who wrote the introduction of the story; it was then passed on throughout the week to each form class in Year 7 who developed and added to the story written by the previous forms. At the end of the week the whole of Year 7 had contributed to and created their own collaborative story.
Two representatives from each form class read out loud the Year 7 story during Assembly on Monday 23rd May 2011.
