Extra-Curricular Activities

Extracurricular drama plays an important role within the Academy. Our Academy Production for 2019 was Philip Ridley’s 'Sparkle Shark’ which was a fantastic performance for students and audiences alike. We followed this with a traverse performance in 2020 of ‘The Government inspector’ by Nikolai Gogol. Students have previously had the option to participate in the Shakespeare for Schools Festival where students performed a famous Shakespeare play on a professional stage in front of their friends, peers and members of others schools as well the National Theatre Connections Festival.

We are excited to announce our 2022 Extra-Curricular production is Bugsy Malone which is being directed by Mr Gill and Ms Trustman. We have students from Year 7 to Year 13 involved and we know this is going to be a special experience for all involved. Performance dates: 16th / 17th / 18th March 2022.

Testimonials

“Being in the Government Inspector was the best thing I have been involved in since starting the Academy. Performing was amazing and I loved the experience,  but also getting to know students from different year groups and making friends with students I would not normally socialise with was equally brilliant” Samuel – Year 10
