Our Community
We believe in maintaining a strong sense of community in which all staff work to ensure students are happy, healthy and safe. Students are offered a range of healthy food options in our Dining Hall and we have our own registered nurse.
We provide many opportunities for our students to develop their spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding of the world and of the multi-cultural society in which we live. Such issues will be discussed openly in assemblies, PSHE sessions and in Religious Education. We celebrate festivals of all religions and respect the requirements of different faiths – for example through the provision of Halal meat for lunch and uniform adaptations.
The Academy believes in life-long learning. Career development for staff is central to our success. An increasing number of local people contribute to and gain from all the Academy offers. We value our good relationships with local primary schools and the wider community and seek to support both by sharing our resources and becoming a hub of out of hours community learning.
