Academic mentoring
We understand that the move to a new school will be exciting but may also be a time of some anxiety. By doing all we can to ensure students are known, make friends and settle into the faster pace of work in a large number of subjects from their first day this is reduced.
Each student who needs one will have an adult as an academic mentor who will know everything about their attendance, attitude, behaviour, effort, achievement and participation in Academy life. The tutor and student will meet regularly to ensure the right choices are made for a bright future. The progress and wider well-being of the students in each year group is overseen by a Learning Manager who co-ordinates the work of the team of tutors.
