The L Space
Students in Year 7 benefit from a personalised curriculum. Some groups of students move through the work at a greater pace with the aim of completing their Key Stage 3 SATs at the end of Year 8. Other groups work at the expected rate or receive intensive literacy and oracy catch-up alongside their other subjects. Flow between the groups ensures further progress.
We have a wide programme of extension and enrichment for gifted and talented students. Pupils with individual learning needs will receive support within the classroom from our large team of experienced Learning Support Assistants. Targeted support groups also help students’ learning to accelerate.
We invest highly in literacy and language tuition throughout the Academy, helping students to understand fully the work. We are proud of our provision for students with English as an additional language and offer courses for those of all levels of fluency.
Our virtual learning environment allows students to access work from home or our Learning Support Centre at any time.
